It was the MK marathon, half marathon and fun run today and as my daughter Erin and son in law Gary were competing in the half marathon I went along to watch.
First we stood in Silbury Boulevard in the city centre clapping on all the fantastic runners. Many were running for charity with their t shirts carrying their name and the charity name. We were standing with a very vocal group who were clapping all the time which made for a great atmosphere. Gary came through , then Erin who waved back 2 handed. A group of her friends were just over the road cheering her on too.
Next we headed for the stadium where all the races finished. It was so busy we had trouble parking, but we were well impressed with the stadium, our first visit.
We met up with our other daughter Claire and family and waited for the runners to come through. Erin finished just behind the winner of the full marathon! There was a good atmosphere and Erin and Gary thoroughly deserve their shiny medals. I am in awe!
