Woke this morning at 3.50. Alarm was set for 4.30, ah well! Picked up at 5.30 and had straightforward journey to Heathrow.
Used the Serviceair lounge as we have before, good to relax and have a drink and use the wifi.
Flight on Air Canada left 10.30 ish. Mum and I both watched the film About Time, a Richard Curtis movie about a time travelling man which reminded me of Kate Atkinson’s book Life After Life. We both enjoyed it and got teary at the end!
The flight was 9 hours; in the last hour or so I was very queasy, and it took a while to recover.
At Vancouver airport we went through immigration, got our bags then turned around and checked our bags in again, then through security again to catch our 15 minute flight for Victoria. We had time to chill and have a light meal.
Beautiful flight looking over the sea and islands, got bags again and caught a cab to our hotel. We are resting our legs and having hot drinks before heading out for dinner. I don’t want to work out the time at home! We are going to stay up as long as we can.
At Vancouver it was strange to read that the Rock Choir rehearsal with Peter Howarth was already over as it was 2.30 pm when I read the Facebook updates! Was sad to read of Rik Mayall’s death.
Here’s a photo of Mum at Vancouver airport.
