Beacon Hill Park etc

Wonderful long walk today through the glorious Beacon Hill Park, bird and butterfly spotting, past the tallest totem pole and the Mile 0 marker, then on the coastal walk all the round to the harbour. We took our time and kept stopping to take photos and look around.

As we rested at one point a cat sized rodent dashed over the path and into the undergrowth. It had chestnut brown fur and a tail but no idea what it was! It was too fast to photograph. Yummy lunch at the Breakwater cafe, including a Nanaimo bar for me!

Wandered around Fishermans’ Wharf and admired the floating houses then continued around past the big hotels and back to the central harbour. Now resting our feet!

Looks really beautiful there. Was it Kevin the squirrel come over to say “Hello”?!

  2. We did see a black squirrel, Mum got a photo. She’s forgotten her camera to iPad lead so can’t post her pics on Facebook yet.
